

Rachel Macdonald is a qualified primary school teacher who specialises in Outdoor Learning and Forest School provision. She has a B.Sc. in Environmental Science, a PGCE in Primary Education and a M.Sc. in Education.
Five years ago Rachel qualified as a Forest school Leader and established a very successful Forest School site at a Chester primary school from scratch. This unique, yet vital curriculum approach received a special mention in their recent ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted report.
Rachel also works in North Wales running regular outdoor projects ranging from Sure Start preschool children to adults with mental health issues. Rachel has organised INSET days, CPD and projects for school clusters, and worked for the University of Chester as an Outdoor Learning specialist drawing in other specialist teachers to encourage schools to use their school grounds in a cross curricular way.
